Milena Govich

 

Milena Govich is a Serbian actor, director and singer, was born October 29th in 1976. She is best known for her character as NYPD Detective Nina Cassady in Law & Order.



 



 Education and early life



 Govich was born in Norman, Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Both of her parents, Dr. Bruce Michael Govich, who died in 1998, and Dr. Marilyn Green Govich,[2] are music professors. Bruce worked at University of Oklahoma and Marilyn is currently teaching voice at the University of Central Oklahoma. Her father is Serbian and her mother has Scottish and English origins. Her aunt, Milica Govich, is also an actress , having appeared on Broadway as well as on television and film.



 



 Milena was class valedictorian at Norman High School in 1995. Following her academic parents, she was able to graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1995 as valedictorian. She was awarded a double-degree in premedical as well as performance studies, as well as a minor in violin and dance. Govich was able to move to New York City after graduation to pursue an acting career.
