Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in the city of Havana, Cuba. The family moved to Miami when she was 2 years old. Ana was was raised in Cuba's Havana. Then she moved to Miami with her family around age two after moving out of Havana. In Habana, Cuba, Ana Maria Polo is the host of renowned Telemundo show "Caso Cerrado" which was the first Spanish show to be nominated a Daytime Entertainment Emmy(r) Award. The show was ranked in 2015 as the top Spanish-language show in the 4pm hour across all the key demos. Polo was born in Havana in 1959. When she graduated from Florida International University's political science program, she relocated to Havana where she stayed for 20 years. After that, she received the PhD in law at the University of Miami and practiced law for twenty decades in Miami. Thereafter, she obtained her PhD in Law from University of Miami. University of Miami. The legal expertise of Polo was utilized in other court shows and Telemundo Sala de Parejas 2001 and on the television show Sala de Parejas. Literary Works and Accolades in 1958, she wrote the novel Los Hijos Muertos (The dead children), with which she received the Critic's Prize as well as the Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute left Spain for her home in the United States in 1960. Polo, an ovarian cancer survivor, regularly raises funds for the cause and speaks at events. She has always been a vocal advocate in support of LGBT concerns. She has been in the Florida Bar since 1987 and graduated in law from University of Miami School of Law.
